America’s Role in the Asia-Pacific Region: A View From Singapore?

May 4, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The San Diego World Affairs Council presents:

Christopher Cheang on America’s Role in the Asia-Pacific Region: A View From Singapore

Singapore is an important partner of the United States in promoting peace and prosperity in Southeast Asia. Though not formal allies, the two countries have long enjoyed a broad and deep partnership in areas of defense, national security and trade.

What will this relationship be like in an era of global change and tumult? The Consul General of Singapore in San Francisco, Christopher Cheang, will offer the San Diego World Affairs Council his perspectives on U.S. relations with Singapore and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Cheang has been Consul General of Singapore in San Francisco since 2013, covering an area that includes 13 western states and many U.S. territories and outlying islands. Join us at what promises to be an informative and enlightening presentation.
