North County Chapter Newsletter:

President’s Communique’   by Tom Reeve

We offer a special ‘welcome’ to our newest members Rebecca Morales, Dr. Paul Milling, and Robert Meyer. Thanks to the support, cooperation, and dedication of our extraordinary members we not only survive, but we prosper.  As a Chapter we are in very good condition.  We are financially self-sustaining, predominantly through our very modest annual dues.

It Was A Mistake.  If you received a membership renewal request from the downtown San Diego World Affairs Council – disregard it, it was a mistake.  Some North County members may have already sent money to downtown SDWAC. If you did, contact Joe Eldred, SDWAC Membership Chair for a refund at, JSEldred670@yahoo.com

‘Tis The Season To Renew at North County.  All members are invited to renew their North County Chapter membership.  Our membership year is from January 1st to December 31stRenew now and enjoy your membership until December 31, 2017. Please renew early and encourage your friends to renew or join.  Your paid memberships enable us to continue our 30-plus years of free quality programming.

The North County Chapter was formed in 1986 by a few members of the downtown San Diego World Affairs Council, who had been meeting informally in north county homes.  We promote and encourage public interest in and the analysis, study, and discussion of international affairs and foreign policy.  Our Chapter has written bylaws, an elected board of directors and officers, an independent budget, and regular meetings.  During our 30-plus years, we have provided over 1,670 high quality free programs. The speakers are international experts from the region and our own members with specialized international knowledge and expertise. We are entirely a volunteer group of very welcoming and talented members.

We support free and fair informed discussion by presenting speakers with various views and by conducting civil question and answer sessions.  The Chapter explicitly and always takes no stand on any public policy and neither opposes nor recommends any policy or candidate.

Please, enjoy our programs and don’t forget to renew your membership.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
