Presentation:
"America... and the Great Power Competition"
Monday, 23 September 2019
Vice Admiral (three-star commissioned naval officer rank in the US Navy) Charles W. Martoglio will discuss the increasingly competitive rivalry posed by China and Russia working together against American interests around the world: the global security environment, how China and Russia are challenging America, internal challenges faced by China and Russia, and America's way forward to ensure its future position in the world. Vice Admiral (VADM) Martoglio spent 40 years in the US Navy, with significant tours in Asia, Europe, and Washington - including serving as a Director of Strategy and Policy for the US Navy, Director of Operations at US Pacific Command, and Deputy Commander of all US military forces in Europe, Eurasia, and Israel. He continues to speak, non-politically, on national security issues and strategic leadership and teaches "Grand Strategy and Defense Policy" at UC San Diego's School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS).
