Iran’s economy has been stuck in a period of low growth, high inflation, and volatility for many years, which has hurt the economic prospects of millions of Iranians. Many factors contribute to this situation. Among them are international sanctions, domestic and international government policies, drops in oil prices, government policies related to subsidies, state control over key industries, inflation, and exchange rates. Some key economic indicators, such as GDP, unemployment rates, and Industrial production, will be discussed to understand the situation better.
