About this Program
President Trump has issued a number of Executive Orders imposing import tariffs, and then modified many of them. What is the motivation for imposing a tariff? Should a country be concerned with trade deficits? What is Comparative Advantage? What is Mercantilism? What are non-tariff barriers? What is the Chinese approach to international trade? Is it "Fair Trade"? What percent of international trade is due to China? How does international trade affect the cars American buy? What are the potential impacts of the Trump tariffs on Canada, Mexico, Japan, Europe - and the United States? Bill Thayer and David Edick will address these questions in their presentations and audience Q&A.
Free to the public also available via Zoom. Pre-registration required.
