David Edick Jr.
Academic WorldQuest Advisor to the Subcommittee Chair
Dave is an independent financial & management consultant focused on energy, commodities, Russia, political risk, and global financial markets. Long active in international trade, investment banking, and internationally-oriented nonprofits, he worked in Russia in the 1990′s as owner of California Trading & Industrial Corporation – a food importer and wholesaler; later with Vtoroi Finansovyi Dom – a British-Russian investment bank; and then as Executive Vice President of Cortez Seafoods exporting seafood from Mexico to Asia and Europe.
David stepped down as President in January 2016 to become Past President of the World Affairs Council of San Diego until 2019. He is also Past-President of the San Diego International Sister Cities Association and 6-term past President of the San Diego-Vladivostok Sister City Society. He has served on the Community Advisory Board of the San Diego Diplomacy Council. In addition, David makes public presentations on topics involving international/global affairs, finance, political risk, and energy. David served as President of the San Diego World Affairs Council 2013-2016.
Kevin Cruz
Kevin Cruz is a Brazilian-American dual citizen and native San Diegan committed to expanding opportunities for all San Diegans to engage with their global community at home and abroad.
As a global supply chain professional at Northrop Grumman, Kevin is responsible for managing the performance of a diverse set of suppliers delivering hardware and software solutions in support of mission-critical systems manufactured in San Diego. In this role, Kevin acts as a bridge-builder across disparate parts of the organization in order to drive supplier sourcing efforts, contract negotiations and cost reduction initiatives.
Kevin's previous experiences include developing new marketing strategies for consumer products in São Paulo, Brasil, practicing inclusive leadership and conflict resolution as a student dialogue facilitator, and researching public policy aimed at addressing global climate change at the California Governor's Office of Planning and Research.
Kevin received his undergraduate degrees in Economics and International Relations, with an emphasis on Peace and Security and a regional focus on Latin America, from the University of California, Davis. He currently lives in University City with his wife, Elizabeth, and their dog, Dakota.Guillermo Garcia

Jared Hernandez
Jared grew up in both the small town of El Centro, CA, and the state capital Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. He attended Cal State University San Marcos and received his undergraduate degree in Global Business Management in the Spring of 2019. During his last semester, he studied abroad in Amsterdam. His upbringing and time spend abroad influenced his decision to gear his career path towards migration and issues involving the displacement of people. Jared plans on attending UCSD fall of 2021, where he will pursue his Master of International Affairs.
A big sports fan, Jared currently works for the San Diego Padres in their event operations department.
Mallory O'Malley
Mallory is an active duty U.S. Air Force Contracting Officer working with Defense Contract Management Agency at Northrop Grumman Corporation in Rancho Bernardo, CA. There she manages a multi-million dollar portfolio ensuring the Air Force and foreign allies receive the Global Hawk, RQ-4. Mallory has over 6 years experience in leading Airmen including a deployment to the MENA region.
Mallory has a B.S. in Behavioral Science from the U.S. Air Force Academy. She is currently pursuing her Master of Liberal Arts degree in International Relations from Harvard University and taking Arabic courses.
At SDWAC, she actively volunteers with the Program Committee developing a robust and contemporary guest speaker schedule.
