2025 Academic WorldQuest Competition

Academic WorldQuest is a fun, fast-paced team competition for high school students.

It tests players' knowledge of current international politics, geography, global economics, history, and world cultures.

Great experience to mention on a college application!

The winning team is invited to represent San Diego in the national competition in

Washington DC on April 18th, 2025!

    Common Core Standards - Academic WorldQuest contributes to the national Common Core State Standards Initiative by fostering reading comprehension skills for informational text. Topics are compatible with, and enhance, the study of many existing curriculums and AP courses.

How To Participate

Step 1.

Your 4-person* team, and on-campus academic advisor, by clicking on one of the two hyperlinks above! 


Thanks to our educational sponsors there is now no fee for team registration! 


Registration deadline is February 15th,  2025.


*We request that you register a total of 5 team members (4 participants + 1 substitute), to allow for replacements in the event that one of the original 4 cannot attend.

AWQ 2025 Study Guide

All the San Diego competition questions will be drawn from the Official Study Guide--10 questions on 10 topics, for a grand total of 100 questions.



Step 3.

Attend and Compete...

Participants in the San Diego Academic WorldQuest competition receive a free,1-year  'student membership' in the San Diego World Affairs Council – a $25 value.
