David Pasquini has been the UK Consul based in San Diego, California, since October 2016. In this role, he is responsible for the UK’s political and economic relationship with the San Diego region.
Prior to this position, he worked as a Vice-Consul for the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT), developing and delivering the UK’s investment and trade promotion strategy for the USA in the aerospace, defense, marine, and automotive sectors.
David holds a BA in International Affairs and a Minor in Immigration Studies from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and worked in the international aftermarket auto-parts industry prior to joining the Department for International Trade.
David sits on the board of TMA BlueTech, a non-profit that promotes sustainable, science-based ocean and water industries. He is an active member of the Surfrider San Diego Chapter, the Aerospace & Defence Forum of Southern California, the SD Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Young Leader’s association, and regular contributor to the SD World Trade Center’s MetroConnect program and Global Competitiveness Council.
He is fluent in Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese and enjoys surfing, motorcycle touring, and playing the cavaquinho in his spare time.
